Cairns Neurophysiology is a privately operating neurodiagnostic service that is located in the medical specialist suites, 'Flecker House', in the Cairns CBD centralising the services for patients and general practitioners in Far North Queensland. Cairns Neurophysiology conducts bioelectric tests on both the central and peripheral nervous system on patients of all ages from paediatrics to geriatrics.

Our mission is assist local physicians, specialists, as well as patients in the prompt diagnosis of neurological conditions including epilepsy, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, peripheral neuropathy, radiculopathy, plexopathy, myopathy, neuropraxia, (nerve and muscle abnormalities) and investigate symptoms including: seizures, altered states of consciousness, loss of consciousness, drop attacks, altered behaviour states, paresthesia (tingling, burning; pins & needles) and peripheral weakness among others.

Dr. John Archer FRACP PhD Reporting Neurologist- Melbourne Based
Dr. Archer obtained MBBS and BMedSc through University of New South Wales in '90. He trained in neurology in Sydney and Oxford, completing a PhD in epilepsy and imaging through Austin Hospital and The University of Melbourne in '02. From '02-07 he ran a solo neurology service at Cairns Base Hospital whilst helping establish James Cook University Medical School clinical program at the hospital. In '07 he was appointed senior lecturer medicine the University of Melbourne, head of EEG laboratory Austin Health, and research fellow Brain Research Institute / Florey Neuroscience Institutes. He has previously published in the areas of tropical and indigenous neurology. Current research interests are EEG/fMRI, secondary generalized epilepsy.
Dr. Andrew McNabb FRACP Reporting Neurologist- Nerve Conduction Studies & Electromyography Dr Andrew McNabb joined Cairns Neurophysiology in 2012 after relocating to Cairns.
Holly is the friendly Neurophysiology Scientist conducting EEG's and NCS's for patients in the Far North Queensland region. Her service is delivered at a highly professional level with an approachable manner as she strives to assist both patients and physicians. She has successfully completed Bachelor of Medical Science through Charles Sturt University and has a solid understanding of peripheral neuropathies.
Rosemary McGinn B.Nurs, B. Health Sc. (Public Health) Grad Cert, Emergency Nursing, Neurophysiology Scientist- Undergraduate- Electroencephalograms
Rosemary has been with Cairns Neurophysiology since January 2014 and is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Medical Science through Central Queensland University. She has a strong background in the health field with a variety of degrees additional to 10 years of nursing experience in cardiac, respiratory and emergency. She was awarded a Queensland Health Rural Scholarship during her nursing training and has worked in many hospitals throughout Queensland. She has a very welcoming smile, and offers a friendly as well as professional environment during her diagnostic procedures.
Tammy Rankin Administrations officer
Tammy is the newly appointed administrations officer, who recently relocated from Victoria after successfully completing her year 12 Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). She hopes to pursue a career in the health industry after completing her desired degree through James Cook University Cairns. She offers a high level of customer service with a bright & cheerful personality.
